What is an Aesthetic Gum Lift?In the past, people who wanted to get excessive gum tissue removed had to have it removed with a scalpel. A lot of people didn’t like this procedure, because it involved cutting and sutures. There was a risk of infection. Luckily today, we can remove excess tissue with a laser. This reduces bruising, swelling, and bleeding - which means there’s no need for sutures at all. In addition, the laser’s heat kills off the bacteria, which means the risk of infection is much lower than with a scalpel. Because we aren’t doing any cutting, there’s no need for anesthesia, because lasers are painless. With lasers, we are able to remove only the gum tissue that we need to remove. It also means we can contour your gums to fit the size of your teeth, as well as your face.
